Active Silicon has released the FireBird-4xCXP6, the first product in its all-new CoaXPress based high-speed FireBird frame grabber family.
Active Silicon is extending its FireBird range with high performance CoaXPress products. FireBird-4xCXP6 is the first member of this new family, using the latest FPGAs, DDR3 memory and a fast gen 2 PCI Express x8 interface. FireBird allows the simultaneous image acquisition of four CoaXPress links. Each link supports data rates of up to 6.25 Gbps, along with device power up to 13W and device control at 20.8 Mbps – all on a single coax cable.
For very fast devices, the links can be concatenated to provide multiples of the single coax bandwith. For instances, a camera can use four links to transfer data rates of 25 Gbps.
The CoaXPress transmission standard supports very long cable lengths – up to 40m at 6.25 Gbps and over 100m at 3.125 Gbps.
The FireBird series will support Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, VxWorks and QNX. An easy to use SDK is included in delivery. Additionally, we provide Common Vision Blox drivers for these cards.
